Criss Cross

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-22

Criss Cross is designed so that your video content never leaves your device. This policy explains what little data is involved.

No uploads, no server

Criss Cross has no backend. We do not operate servers that receive your video clips. All editing, generation, and export happens locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Permissions we ask for

We request access to your photo library so that you can pick source clips and so we can save the generated videos back to it. We use this access only for those purposes. We do not read or transmit other media.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store and processed by RevenueCat as our subscription infrastructure provider. We receive an anonymous customer identifier that lets us verify your subscription status. We do not receive your Apple ID, email, or payment details. See Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for their handling.

Analytics

We use anonymous product analytics from PostHog, our product-analytics provider, hosted in the EU. It tells us which screens are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve the app. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Analytics is keyed to a random identifier generated on your device, never to your name or email, and we never call identify() with personal information. No video filenames, paths, or content are ever sent. IP addresses are used only to derive your country, then discarded. To object to this processing, contact us at the address below.

No personal information

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information. The app works without an account.

Children

Criss Cross is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will note the change here with an updated date.
